My kitchen is about 10×10 and i live in Oregon. What would be a good bid for labor to install the following from a license contractor?
-remove and install new cabinets, back-splash, counter-top, sink, and built in microwave hood. Open up the bearing wall that separate the living room (picture window) and put in breakfast nook around there. Not doing any new plumbing, electrical or moving anything major. Thanks for your input.

My husband and I are moving into our first house and there are some things I’d like to do. Eventually I’d like to remodel the entire kitchen, but right now, all I want to do is take off the current wallpaper (on drywall), and repaint. The kitchen has a sliding glass door that opens to our deck, so there will be quite a bit of light. What colors would you recommend? Keep in mind I’d eventually like to have granite counter tops (darker color, maybe black), and tile floors. I’m not into really bold colors, but right now the only thing I can think of was a pale yellow…. but I don’t know how that would work with future work, AND the kitchen will be connected to a light blue living room. Help! Color coordination is not my thing when it comes to painting.

This project was finished in Charlotte, North Carolina.This started as a house flip and turned into a re-design. The bathroom was a lot of fun because I had the chance to design the floor plan and build it my way. The kitchen design was a success. Hardwood floors and Ceramic tile replaced linoleum.New bar area for entertaining and cleaner granite counter tops to give it a luxurious look on a budget. This went from an aging house to a beautifully renovated home that has an inviting feeling when you walk in.
Also, when is the balance paid? When it’s half-way done? At the very end?
