Replacing a Shower Pan – Andy Bell of Handyman Matters takes us through the process of removing an old shower pan and replacing it with a new one. First what you have to do is remove the fiber glass walls above the shower pan; try not to tear the drywall. You will need to remove some drywall to get the old pan out of the way. Once the old one is out the new shower pan can just be put down and there is a nut screw that is the tool used to tighten and seal the drain around the pipe ensuring there will be no leaks. Once the pan is in place start putting the fiberglass panels back into place and caulk around the top of the pan.
